Iran film center signs MoU with Kazan filmfest

Iran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Kazan International Muslim Film Festival.

The Executive Director of the Kazan fest Milyausha Aytuganova and Director of the International Film Festival of Cinema Verite Seyyed Mohammad-Mehdi Tabatabaeenejad signed the MoU on cultural cooperation.

The MoU was signed on the sidelines of an event dubbed ‘Russia - Islamic world: Kazan Summit’.

The Kazan International Muslim Film Festival has been held since 2005.The first edition of the festival was initiated with a focus on the experience exchange in the sphere of culture and arts of Russia and Muslims of the neighboring and far-abroad countries.

The event displays the creative achievements of those who make films popularizing human, spiritual and moral values.

Earlier media reports announced that a lineup of five Iranian shorts will be competing at this edition of the festival.

The festival focuses on Russian and international films promoting the ideas of peace building, intercultural dialogue and tolerance regardless of religious affiliations.

The event  which is currently underway in Republic of Tatarstan, will come to an end on April 30, 2019.
